Michelangelo's family had a Florentine origin; Florence was the town where he became an artist and where he created the David, his most famous masterpiece. In the Florentine church, Santa Croce, is where his tomb rests. Michelangelo and Florence are the two parts of a single story, the artist being the best interpreter of the Florentine Renaissance, and also bearing witness to that politically and socially troubled time for the city, which resulted in the Florentine republic becoming a Signoria, governed by the Medici family. With this tour we will know the man, the citizen, the artist, the genius, in a word Michelangelo, visiting his town and admiring some of his masterpieces.
