History and the urban evolution of Florence are the main themes of this tour. From the Roman foundation to the Medieval libero comune, from Granducato di Toscana to the XIXth century when Florence became the capital of Italy, in our guided tour we will retrace the most important historical events that formed the town as you see it today. We will start on Piazza Duomo, with the cathedral and its imposing dome designed by Brunelleschi, Giotto's Campanile and the Bapistry. Through the medieval section of the town near Dante's house, we will arrive at Piazza Della Signoria, where Palazzo Vecchio dominates. From Ponte Vecchio we will enjoy the unforgettable view of the Arno river. Our walking tour will lead us to Porcellino market and Piazza della Republicca, built when Florence became capital of the Italian Republic. The XIXth century square was built on the same place of the ancient Roman forum, where their past and present unite."
